Behind the day-to-day operation

The people behind Zermatt Bergbahnen are essential to keeping everything running. Employees from different specialist departments contribute technical expertise, experience and a range of perspectives. As their responsibilities are closely interconnected, open communication, well-coordinated processes and a willingness to develop solutions together are essential.

Board of Directors

The Board of Directors sets the strategic direction for Zermatt Bergbahnen AG and oversees the company’s long-term development. It decides on key strategic decisions, supervises the Executive Board and assesses significant opportunities and risks. In doing so, it creates the framework for financially stable and responsible corporate governance that reflects the importance of Zermatt Bergbahnen to the region and the destination.

These span the construction and operation of installations, snowmaking and piste rescue, as well as gastronomy, marketing and administrative functions. The different departments offer an insight into these varied areas of work and show what makes each of them distinctive.

Executive board

The Executive board is responsible for the operational management of Zermatt Bergbahnen AG and ensures that day-to-day operations run safely, reliably and efficiently. It coordinates the different areas of the company, makes the necessary decisions for ongoing business and implements the company’s strategic direction. In doing so, it balances operational, staffing and financial requirements while keeping the needs of guests, employees and partners in view.

Apprenticeships at Zermatt Bergbahnen

Whether working on cableway installations or in the workshop, Zermatt Bergbahnen offers a range of apprenticeships with varied tasks and a strong practical focus. The training combines modern technology with the diverse requirements of a mountain transport company. From the very beginning, apprentices are part of the team, gain hands-on experience and take on responsibility step by step.
